Clean Products Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-16
Clean Products analyzes product labels with as little data collection as possible. This policy explains what the app stores, what it sends, and why.
Data stored on your device
- Favorites, scan history, preferences, consent choices, and the local premium entitlement cache stay on your device. Sensitive values use platform secure storage where available.
- Photos taken or selected for label OCR are processed on-device. The original image is not uploaded by the OCR flow.
Data sent to services
- Barcode and product searches send the entered barcode or search text to relevant public product-data services, including Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, Open Products Facts, UPCitemdb, or Wikidata.
- If you sign in and enable sync, account credentials and selected favorites/history are processed by Supabase Auth and Supabase database services.
- If you submit a product contribution, submitted product details and any chosen label image are sent to the Clean Products Supabase backend for moderation and publication.
- If you buy premium or link an account, Apple or Google and RevenueCat process purchase/entitlement information and the custom RevenueCat user ID needed to complete, restore, and associate the transaction.
- When RevenueCat ad monetization is enabled, RevenueCat may receive ad event metadata such as format, placement, ad unit, impression identifier, currency, and revenue only when the RevenueCat identity is verified, UMP allows ad requests, and optional app analytics consent is enabled. This attribution does not grant personalized-ad consent.
Optional analytics, advertising, and crash reports
- Anonymous product and feature events are sent to PostHog only after you opt into analytics. Analytics is disabled by default.
- Google AdMob may process device advertising information to serve ads. Google UMP handles regional purposes/vendor consent; the app preference can further force contextual ads. Personalized ads require applicable UMP permission, the app preference, and iOS tracking permission when required. Premium users do not receive ads.
- If configured for a release, Sentry receives anonymous crash diagnostics. Crash events are sent without account identity.
Your choices and deletion
- Disable analytics or force contextual ads in Settings. Use Google's ad privacy choices entry point when it is shown.
- Delete favorites, clear history, and delete your optional account from in-app Settings.
- Synced account data is removed after account deletion. Local data is removed when cleared or when the app is uninstalled.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
